Meet the Dean! As most of you know, Mr. Rastetter stepped down as Dean of Students. He is fulfilling his dream as Otterbein’s head wrestling coach. The staff and students are all incredibly excited for this new opportunity, but sad to see him go.  Until someone can take over full-time, an Interim Dean of Students has been selected! Mr. Jay Schmidt has 36 years of experience with Lexington Local Schools. He served 23 years as a teacher and 13 years in administration. He has also been involved in the Lexington Athletic program on many levels. He has coached Girls High School Basketball, Boys High School Basketball, High School Track, High School Cross Country, Junior High Girls Basketball, and Junior High Track. Mr. Schmidt is in his 5 th year of retirement from Lexington, but has never stopped coaching, making this his 41 st year working with Lexington students! Scheduling for 8th Grade!

Today I am working with 7th grade History classes to register for classes for the 2018-2019 school year! Some notes about scheduling:   Choir now requires teacher signature to enroll. In addition, both parents and students are required to sign the contract/expectations on the back of the registration form. This course will be limited to 50 students per section.  Other classes that require teacher signature: English 8+, Foreign Language, Choir, Metal/Glass Work Courses taught at (or above) the high school level: Foreign Language and Enriched Algebra I **NEW Art Courses for 2018-2019!** Next year, Mrs. Fraizer is excited to offer two additional art courses! In addition, she has made some changes to the Art 8 curriculum that will give students more freedom and choice. 8th Grade Pioneer Trip The 8 th grade students recently visited Pioneer Career & Technology Center. This is a trip we take every year.   Pioneer has 28 different programs students can complete during their Junior and Senior years of high school. Many of these programs include licensing/certification for future careers. Others offer college credit that provide students a head start in their chosen profession. Pioneer has something for everyone. Check out the link below to take a look at all of the available programs and to become more familiar with what Pioneer has to offer.
