Greetings Spring Breakers!

I hope everyone is enjoying their SPRING BREAK!

I am spending some time with family and relaxing. I have been hearing about many exciting vacations and look forward to seeing all of the smiling, tanned faces on Monday:)

Spring break is a great time to relax, unwind, and catch up on all of those things you have been putting off. For some of you, that means working on math corrections! Remember, if you are having trouble, you can always log in to ConnectEd and get some help.

Ohio Means Jobs is another great website to take a look at. The 8th graders have had the opportunity to explore this site a few times this year. For you parents out there, there is an adult side of the website also. This is a great site to explore careers, evaluate your interests, research educational options, and so much more. This website takes things one step further. Every career interest is linked with an actual employer who is currently seeking someone to fill that job!

Here are some quick instructions to get you started.

https://jobseeker.ohiomeansjobs.monster.com/

  • You will see an icon for individuals and employers. Click on individuals. On this screen you will see options for college students, veterans, etc.
  • Click on K 12 STUDENT.
  • You will find many tools to help you research and plan. This is the kind of website you could spend hours on and still find something new.
  • If you choose to create an account but do not want to share your personal information, you can always use @fakemail.com as your email address and a different name. (Just remember, if you ever want employers to be able to search for you based on your skills, education, experience, etc. you will need to update your account with the correct information).
  • This account can stay with you through adulthood. It can grow with each new experience and level of education you achieve.
Take some time to explore!
